2014-2021 – UA Central Office Administrative Team Increased Dramatically

From 2014-2021, while the UA Schools Administrative Team expanded and overhead soared, the learning of UA students decreased dramatically. Our Superintendent and School Board put the emphasis on administrators. 

In 2013, Upper Arlington had one Associate Superintendent.  Now there are 3 positions at that level.  The DEI Executive Director reports directly to the Superintendent and is on the same level as the Associate Superintendents on the Organizational Chart.  In addition, Administrative Assistants have been hired for each of those positions.  At the same time, rankings have plummeted.

  1. Associate Superintendent of Learning and Leadership (new)
      • In 2014 the Chief Academic Officer(CAO) reported to Superintendent
      • In 2021 the Chief Academic Officer reports to Associate Superintendent Learning/Leadership
      • Curriculum & Instruction Director reports to CAO
      • In 2014 Director of Intervention Services reported to CAO
        • In 2021 it is now titled Student Services Director who reports to Associate Superintendent
        • In 2021 there is now a Student Services Associate Director
        • In 2021 the Student Services Director has 2 Admin Assistants
  1. Executive Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (new)
    • New position created in 2020. Reports directly to the Superintendent
    • On the same line as the two Associate Superintendents
    • Has an Administrative Assistant
  1. Director of Human Resources (new)
    • Created in 2021. Reports to Associate Superintendent of Human Resources and Operations
  1. Well-being Coordinator (new)
  1. Operations Executive Director (new)
    1. In 2014: Director of Operational Services & Director of Transportation & Custodial Services  (2 positions)
    2. In 2021– Operational Services Director & Transportation Director report to Operations Exec Director (3 total positions)
